CCS registration file error |

I am attempting to build a project and am getting the error "Registration File error" "PCM: compiler not found"
When I change my
Code: | #include <16f18857.H> |
from the correct one ( see above ) to a different one that I have used previously (see below)the error goes away and the code builds properly. Any thoughts on what to look at?
Code: | #include <18f56k42.H> |
I'm using mplabX v 5.35
ccs v 5.097
I have checked the location where it is looking for the compiler, and that is correct. |

My guess is that your compiler version doesn't have the 1st PIC in it's list ? |

Check the C:\Program Files (x86)\PICC\Devices folder to see if that processor is present.
If it is, I've had issues in the past with a failing SSD and CCS. A clean reinstall would get it working for me again for a while. |

When checking the list at
C:\Program Files (x86)\PICC\Devices
I do have the pic I am attempting to use present. |

The registration files are separate and distinct.
There is one for pcb, one for pcm, one for pch and one for pcd.
Did you buy just the pch compiler?.
If so, it can only compile for PIC18 chips, not PIC16.
If you bought a 'suite' you should have the separate registration files.
If you only bought pch, this only supports the PIC18 chips.
Check what you bought and which registrations you have. |
