Oh ok so then simply activating the weak pull-ups on my two pins will return the proper NACK if the sensor is not there?

I have to add one 'caveat' to this.
If there is a lot of tracking on the board without the sensors attached,
there could be too much capacitance for the internal pull-ups to manage
to get the lines high 'in time' for the ACK. They pull very little current!.
However they should. Very Happy
